Enjoy epicurean moments at Kinara

From refined dining at Asili to relaxed evenings at Under the Acacia, dining at Kinara tells the story of the Mara. Every dish is shaped by what the market offers that day, what the earth provides in abundance, and what local hands craft with care. Menus blend Kenyan flavours with global influences, always guided by season, sustainability, and a deep respect for place. Food here is not only nourishment — it is part of the story of the Mara.

Asili

Meaning "origin" in Swahili, Asili is Kinara's signature restaurant — a return to what the land naturally provides. Chefs work closely with farmers and suppliers to create dishes that are simple yet soulful, always grounded in freshness and local connection. Seasonal, locally inspired cuisine celebrates indigenous heritage ingredients and time-honoured Maasai culinary wisdom. Dining unfolds across an expansive sunset deck and within a natural rock formation that embraces the landscape, where the colours of dusk and the warmth of stone set the scene for a meal that feels rooted in the Mara itself.

Under the Acacia

The acacia tree is a defining symbol of the Mara — a gathering place for shade, stories and stillness. Under the Acacia sits at the heart of the camp as a vibrant, easy social hub. By day, guests sip freshly pressed juices, herbal infusions and wellness smoothies inspired by local ingredients. As the sun sets, the space transforms: crafted cocktails, wines and flickering firelight set the scene for conversation that drifts long into the evening.

The Bar

A place to linger as the day unfolds, with thoughtfully crafted cocktails, curated wines, and the spirit of the Mara all around. The bartender's warm smile greets every arrival, while conversation turns to the day's sightings — a leopard glimpsed at dawn, a herd crossing in the afternoon light. Here, stories from the bush are shared as freely as the drinks.

Dining at Kinara reflects the spirit of the Mara. Menus highlight fresh seasonal ingredients, blending Kenyan flavours with international culinary influences.

Food is not only nourishment,
it is part of the story of the Mara.

On Deck Dining

Set above the Mara, the deck is a place to simply be. Morning light brings the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the company of your own thoughts. As the day unfolds, the sounds shift — birdsong giving way to the gentle clink of the cocktail mixer, the low hum of conversation drifting into evening.

Here, stillness is the point. Sit with the sun on your skin, watch the wilderness move at its own pace, and let the hours pass unhurried. This is a place for self-reflection as much as connection — a deck for morning coffee, sundowner cocktails, or the quiet in between.

Bush Dining

Some of the best moments at Kinara happen far from the dining room. Bush breakfasts are set out in the open savannah, timed to morning light and the sounds of a waking Mara, with coffee brewed over an open fire. Bush lunches follow the day's journey — beneath an acacia, beside the river, or wherever the afternoon has carried you — with fresh, local flavours served under open skies.

Kinara Farm

Walk the ground that shapes Kinara's kitchen. The farm grows many of the ingredients found on your plate, tended with sustainable, considered practice — a chance to see, and taste, the connection between the land and the table.
